Hello! I, James Evangelista, am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) working under the supervision of Christina Whitney (LMFT 111050) at the Attune Center for Healing. I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University in May 2022, and obtained my AMFT Licensure in May 2023.
I typically employ empathetic and relational techniques in order to relate to clients I work with. I primarily gravitate towards using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help people navigate and cope with their daily challenges, but I am also open to trying other forms of therapies in order to adjust to the client’s needs.
The most important way of helping a client from my perspective, is to inform and encourage them that they are not alone in their challenges. I myself, have dealt with life's fair share of uphill battles, struggles, and disheartening moments, and I will do everything I can to the best of my ability to help any client I meet.
