I am a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive training and experience helping people confronting challenges including anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. As an integrative therapist, I draw on techniques from cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal therapies to help people lead more fulfilling, meaningful lives, sharpening coping skills and facilitating improved self-understanding. My style is relational, and I find that working collaboratively with my patients to identify treatment priorities and course helps make the experience most beneficial and rewarding. I believe that a strong therapeutic fit is paramount.
I have experience working in both shorter and longer-term therapies, using concrete strategies to help manage symptoms of anxiety and depression and fostering insight to develop increased awareness. I blend these techniques to help improve coping skills and understanding, often during the stressful transitions we face across our lives.
I completed my training at Stanford University and Vanderbilt University. In addition to my work in private practice, I founded and directed the Mental Health Services Clinic at Menlo College, where I both provided services for Menlo students and directed a training program for psychology doctoral students from the PGSP-Stanford Consortium.
