I focus on the connectedness among developmental, social, relational, and cultural factors. I have experience working with a diverse population of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I work with clients dealing with many different issues. I have worked with clients from a myriad of racial and ethnic backgrounds but have focused experience working with Black and Native American clients striving to work through race-related stress and racial identity concerns. I work with sexual identity and gender identity concerns (e.g., trans, questioning, gender non-conforming).
I recognize that we all have great potential and, as such, utilize a strength-based, psychodynamic approach to help clients recognize their true strengths. I strive to create a welcoming and open-minded space so clients can feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable in order to explore their concerns, relationships, and identities.
Our past experiences spill over into our present thoughts, actions, and emotions. This is why I diligently collaborate with clients along their pursuit to gain self-awareness. After all, as Muhammad Ali said: “What you’re thinking is what you’re becoming.”
