From student athletes who feel the pressure to be successful both on and off the field, to moms who carry the weight of keeping their household running while navigating societal pressures to “get it right”, to young adults whose lives are full of transition and a mission to determine their purpose, life can be overwhelming to navigate alone.
What do all of these roles have in common? Each of these individuals are navigating confidence, performance anxiety, fear of failure, and the weight of expectations. Each of these roles involve transition, redefining identities, and adjusting to new responsibilities and expectations.
As a former collegiate athlete, coach, special education teacher, school counselor, and a mom myself, I understand the visible and invisible demands of performance, transition, and parenting. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify their strengths to shift unhelpful thought patterns into a clear plan.
