About
I am a clinical psychologist with over 12 years of expertise as a licensed clinician. I consider it a great privilege to join individuals of all ages and circumstances in bringing about lasting change by learning to use emotion as a path to awareness while drawing strength and courage from an open and accepting heart. I strive to be fully present with my clients and to create a safe space and a strong therapeutic alliance. I work from an integrative theoretical framework informed by developmental psychology and models of human functioning including Psychodynamic Psychology, Attachment Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Psychology.
I completed a doctoral program in clinical psychology at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with a concentration in child and adolescent development and psychopathology. My areas of clinical specialty include developmental, behavioral and emotional challenges of childhood, adolescent identity, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, PTSD, and life transitions.
In addition to community mental health and private practice settings, I served on the medical staff of a VA hospital where I had the honor of working with military veterans presenting with combat exposure and deployment related stress conditions including PTSD, traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma, and moral injury.
