Hi there! My name is Jake, I am a neurodivergent counselor who is passionate about working with my patients through a neurodivergent-affirming lens. I believe that, while living in a world designed for and by neurotypical people can be an intensely painful and difficult experience, that doesn't mean that there is anything "wrong" or "bad" about you as a person. Neurodivergent-affirming care means helping individuals navigate life with neurodivergency (learning ways to cope, strategies to manage, and building key life skills) while also working through the strengths inherently present within neurodiverse individuals.
I specialize in working with adults who feel that they may fall somewhere on the spectrum of neurodiversity (ADHD/Autism) and are looking for support and clarification in their daily lives. I have specific training to assess for ADHD and Autism, which allows me to explore these possibilities with you and determine what kind of support you specifically need.
Anyone who makes it to adulthood undiagnosed for either ADHD or Autism has inevitably gone through the trauma of feeling different or wrong because of their neurodiversity.
