My name is Jake Joslin, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) working with patients throughout Iowa via telehealth. My specialization is helping people with ADHD. I also have extensive experience supporting clients through their battles with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and difficult changes or arguments that shake up life. I understand that life is had, and my passion is to help people break free from stigma and shame and feel empowered to overcome their trials. My approach to counseling is flexible to meet clients where they are and provide them with the support that they need most.
My approach to therapy varies based on the patient's concerns, goals, needs, strengths, and interests. Every patient deserves an individualized counseling experience to best empower them. I primarily utilize solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and emotionally focused therapy.
People I work with are generally battling challenges with ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, grief, and challenging circumstances or changes leaving them with painful adjustments. I work with clients ages 14 and up.
