I work best at helping adults, children and families understand their own or other people's feelings, motivations and desires, exercise more control and choice in their actions and experience more love in their relationships with others and with themselves. I am typically an active therapist who firmly believes that much of the healing happens in the context of our relationship. When necessary, I use this relational approach as the foundation from which to apply a variety of more practical approaches to effect real-life change. The practical approach focuses on issues of parenting, skill building and behavioral change.

I am trained in many approaches from cognitive-behavioral to psychodynamic and am a certified trainer in certain trauma-focused therapies and relational psychoanalytic approaches. My approach is flexible, sensitive, and tailored to your individual needs, because no two people walk the same path of healing.

I see private patients in my faculty practice office at Mount Sinai Downtown. I am an Assistant Clinical Professor at Icahn School of Medicine and devote much of my time training and consulting others in psychotherapy and trauma-informed practices.
