About
As many of us have felt the effects of some form of trauma, I work to create an open, affirming environment where clients feel safe sharing their unique stories, strengths and challenges, without fear of judgment. In my 15-plus years of experience treating adolescents, adults, couples and families, clients have described my style as warm, down to earth and flexible. I draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy models, mindfulness, and other strength-based approaches, to treat an array of disorders including anxiety, depression, as well as issues of trauma (trained in EMDR), and relationship struggles. I am fluent in Spanish.
One of my passions is working in the LGBT community on gender and sexual identity issues. Shame and guilt are often prevalent forces. Having grown up as a minority in a strict religion, I feel equipped to help clients navigate self-doubt issues and forge a path to self-acceptance.
