I believe that we all have needs that drive our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The need to connect, to be seen, to be heard, to succeed, to feel alive... Sometimes we are successful in getting our needs met, sometimes we are not. Often, we think there is only one way to be. We see and interpret our experiences with the patterns we establish in our early years. These ways of interacting in the world aren't always as effective or helpful as they may have been when we were young. Fortunately, we can change.
My areas of greatest expertise include relationships, identity development, family-of-origin, shame, and grief. I have been described as someone who has a "deep sensitivity to the human experience" and I seek to truly understand. As a member of the queer community, I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ folx.
I am highly committed to continuing education, consultation, and training. In 2013, I completed a two-year program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. At Mandala House, I am actively involved in the supervision and training of developing clinicians.
