As a former piano teacher and lifelong musician, I believe in the discipline of applying oneself, and that strategic relationships and creativity can be transformative. My personal journey has informed my decision to become a counselor, and I am uniquely positioned with both experience and tutelage to accompany families, couples and individuals on their paths to recovery. I am attuned to the needs of those struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, attention deficit disorder, and marginalized communities including LGBTQ+ populations.
My therapeutic orientation is centered in Narrative and Relational Cultural Theory. Simply, I look at clients as members of political, cultural, and family systems and stories. Sometimes these stories build esteem, sometimes they can harm it. I believe understanding these systems and stories assists in finding freedom from and in them.
