People continue to struggle from the impact of the COVID19 pandemic. Children and young people, who missed out on critical socialization while learning from home, are not where they ought to be academically and in terms of their relationships with their peers and adults. As a result, many have become anxious, depressed, angry, and easily frustrated. This can lead to acting out behaviors or isolation as they struggle to meet the challenges of daily life.
As a former high school English and Social Studies teacher, I feel I understand the mental health and educational crisis many young people are facing. With my experience and the accompanying insight, I believe I can provide students with the perspective and the tools they need to be successful in their daily lives - at home, at school, and in the community.
