Life never came with an instruction manual and there comes a time where we all need to summon the courage to ask for help. I have been in private practice for 12 years and my social work career spans more than 30 years having served diverse population from people without homes, combat veterans, incarcerated people and people with HIV/AIDS. As a therapist I am here to help you in your journey toward healing and self-discovery. I focus on issues of depression, alcohol abuse, anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic health conditions, major life changes (such as divorce) and chronic health conditions.
I often tell people that the primary reason most people seek therapy is because they fail to see how beautiful they really are. Perhaps it is life events, the way one grew up, or the things that one has done to themselves or others that hides the potential we all possess.
My goal is to help you to gain the skills and insight to get out of your own way to live a more fulfilling life. I don’t believe it is helpful if I am only a passive listener to your problems. Instead, I prefer to pose questions to help you look at situations and yourself in different ways and teach skills to help you cope more effectively and find joy again
