Individuals interact with life's challenges the best they can given the strategies they have. One of my goals is to help a person acquire further tools with which to work with. It is helpful when individuals are open to learning. I have often been sought out in my counseling career, because of these tools as they are used in support of my clients. I have found that I work well with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety and with persons whom are trauma survivors. When working with couples I predominantly use the Gottman Couples Method as I have completed their Level 3 training.
I use a holistic cognitive behavioral approach for a healthy mind and body. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns, challenges, issues and strengths. Goals are worked out with clients in regard to individual therapy. It is a consensual agreement when therapy is no longer needed.
Having lived in Asia for over forty years as a child, adolescent and professional, I bring an international background and understanding to my work with individuals. Living and working outside of the U.S. has significantly enhanced my perspectives and abilities to help people of many different cultures.
