I view the goal of therapy as aiding you in developing skills for managing personal challenges while exploring and enhancing your existing talents and abilities. I aim to empower and assist rather than merely label and treat. My role is to support you in an empathetic and nonjudgmental manner as you identify and achieve the goals you want for yourself. In addition to therapeutic services, I am an instructor of addiction treatment, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment at the graduate school level. As a former professional musician I welcome and encourage incorporation of art and creativity into the counseling process.
I specialize in work with individuals and couples (ages 16-45) facing a range of challenges from life-phase transitions to chronic mental health diagnoses. I have also sought specialization and obtained advanced training in couples/relationship/marriage counseling. Additionally, I have worked extensively treating addictive and dual-diagnosis disorders.
