I’m Ivone and I am a bilingual Certified EMDR therapist with 12 years of experience providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed therapy to BIPOC clients struggling with stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, and childhood trauma. I utilize EMDR and other clinical approaches to help you get to the root of your struggles. My clients typically appear to have it all together. They are resilient but despite their achievements and strengths, can’t tune out the voice that says they are "not good enough". They put themselves last and are often their own worst critics. They are exhausted and ready to make changes.
I work from a trauma-informed, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens. My main approach is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a brain based therapy that helps people find relief from traumatic and stressful memories. I integrate elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Brainspotting, attachment theory, parts work, and mindfulness in sessions.
With therapy, my clients have become better versions of themselves, developed healthier relationships, and made changes to live more joyfully. I strive to create a safe and therapeutic space for all.
