It Takes a Family borrows from an ancient African Proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child" which teaches the eternal truth that no man, woman, family or community is an island. ITAF believes in approaching sound mental health holistically and collectively knowing that a collaborative effort with families empowers communities to raise children that build positive societies. At ITAF we advocate for partnerships between clients and staff to provide effective outcomes in counseling and behavioral management. Our staff includes Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Licensed Therapist, Masters Level Clinicians, Advanced Practice Nurses as well as Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Our clinicians and medical staff have extensive years of experience in their various areas of expertise. We strongly believe in serving our clients and their circle of influence knowing that individuals are better equipped when anchored in a cohesive support system; consequently, the passion to serve a diverse population individually, collectively and the reason for the name, It Takes A Family
ITAF provide a range of services to include outpatient individual and family counseling. We focus on behavioral management with children who are distressed in a family unit. Our medical staff provide medication monitoring when needed in collaboration with clinical treatment. Our host of services include In Home therapy, Medication Monitoring , Psychological Assessments, Psychiatric Assessments, Behavior Modification, Clinical assessments as well and treatment for child behavioral issues such as ADHD, Asperger, Autism, Oppositional Defiance , Child Parent Conflict, Anger Management Self Esteem and Substance Abuse related issues to mention a few. To access services a simply phone call would do. We are unique in that we can provide in-home services and transition the services to an outpatient setting with the same therapist, placing the choice to participate in the hands of the family and not with the organization making the referral. The steps are as easy as calling and making an appointment. There is no waiting list and you do not need an agency referral. You can just call.
It Takes a Family (ITAF) is an innovative community based organization with 7 locations in the state of New Jersey. Our locations include Cinnaminson, Bridgeton, East Orange, Lawrenceville, and Galloway New Jersey. We have recently opened up two new locations in Pennsville and Browns Mill New Jersey. ITAF offers In home as well as outpatient behavioral health services to ensure that clients, families, children and communities have access to quality mental health and behavioral services. Our approach is holistic in nature, viewing our clients not from their perspective challenges, but in association with broader issues in relation to their lives. . We are unique in that we are able to provide all mental health and behavioral needs ranging from behavioral intervention to medication management. Our intent is to provide the best mental health interventions by having experts in all areas of mental health contributing to your care and overall well being of all our clients, families and groups.
