It is often quite difficult to make that first phone call requesting therapy. Usually that call is precipitated by the realization that possibly, " I don't have to face my difficulties alone" and "just maybe, I can feel better sooner with some help". I always make an effort to help clients feel at ease and to clarify their needs. I work towards enabling clients to experience their strengths as they address their difficulties.
I very much appreciate the opportunity to help people with the challenges of life transitions and relationships. It is very rewarding to work toward personal changes that enhance interactions and the ability to enjoy life. Sensitivity, understanding and care for the complicated mix of emotions that we experience is helpful, important, and sometimes necessary.
Interpersonal difficulties, grief, low self-esteem, anxiety and sadness are familiar in some degree to most people. I believe in the healing and personal growth that can result from an understanding, non-judgmental collaborative, therapeutic relationship.
