I have worked in mental health and substance abuse agencies and have helped many people address painful issues. It is most rewarding to be able to guide people to a more satisfying life experience. I am experienced in crisis counseling, individual therapy, substance abuse and group work. I have training in PTSD, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Mindful Self Compassion. I use IFS and self compassion to address anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, relationship issues and other life challenges.
I often utilize parts work (IFS) to increase an individual's awareness of their self and the parts they and all individuals have. This increases self compassion and acceptance as well as a greater capacity to deepen relationships. After experiencing IFS through therapy, many individuals have more productive inner dialogue daily. This allows Self soothing.
I work with young adults, parents, and people of all ages, exploring issues and finding self compassion. My work utilizing IFS has taught me that acceptance of our feelings and behaviors through the compassionate Self (which we all have inside) frees an individual to access a rewarding life.
