Today's world is plagued by distractions that take us away from what is fundamentally important. Learning to separate from an illogical need to please others may allow us to determine our path and help us to be true to ourselves. There is no such thing as an ideal client, only willingness to look within as a shared experience is necessary for growth.
My clinical experience is based in outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling, so I have worked with a wide variety of diagnoses. I believe that the alliance between the counselor and the client is of utmost importance to developing a trusting relationship.
Ultimately, I envision my work as a therapist to be founded in assisting the client to develop a better internal relationship with and understanding of the self.
