Adjunct Professor: LPC-level Counseling degree program at Dallas Theological Seminary.

My name is Misty East and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing therapy to adolescents, families, couples and the geriatric population for over 15 years. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns. My passion has been working with clients with trauma histories (sexual, physical and emotional). I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, family issues and relationship problems from a strength based and if requested, a Christian based approach.

I help women build resilience to weather the storms of life with grace and strength. I know the importance of being able to bounce back from loss, disappointment, or crisis. As a therapist who works with women stung and damaged by all sorts of life events, I believe that resilience is one of the single most important qualities that enables us to bounce back from the edge. Resilience allows us to find our strength in adverse circumstances. It requires a willingness to fall apart for a time and get in touch with our pain. There is much healing that can be accomplished by getting to know yourself at your rawest and darkest times.

My specialty is working with individuals with dual-diagnosis, traumatic experience, and adoption.
