The counselors at HOPE - Child and Family Counseling/Adolescent and Adult Therapy specialize in therapy to promote emotional healing across the lifespan. We provide an atmosphere of acceptance and hope. My experience and educational background are directly related and have provided me with a well-rounded background in Therapy. I am a Military veteran with 30 plus years of experience working with patients in psychiatric hospitals, state mental health facilities, Illinois Department of Corrections, and in private practice. I am currently licensed to practice in Illinois, Kansas and Georgia. I also provide Tele-health service to Military members overseas (OCONUS).

At North Shore Family Services, we empower kids, teens, and adults to learn tools, so they can succeed independently. Our goal is for children, teens, adults, parents, and couples to learn skills to be successful with school, peers, work, and family- long after therapy ends. We assist with IEP and 504 plans to help our children/teen clients succeed where they spend most of their day- out of their parents' sight. Parents are our partners in helping kids and teens learn life skills.

We solely see first responders, ER staff, and veterans at the FRWC. Being a former Chicago Police Officer for 13 years, I understand the unique needs of first responders and developed the center to help those who protect us. We see first responders due to trauma, crisis, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, job-related stress, suicide, etc. We also understand how there are concerns about engaging in therapy services and protecting your job. We ensure that you will have privacy and confidentiality. We have a separate entrance and exit to maintain confidentiality.

I’m honored to help others along their path of self-discovery and change. Having worked in the field for 15 years, I’ve gained a wealth of information and experience working with those with chronic medical concerns, grief and loss, trauma, and addictions (active and in recovery). I’ve learned that a strength of mine is supporting others with anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors and transitions, and relationship concerns. I'll work with you to identify your goals and develop a plan that will support, maintain, and continue positive changes, even after our work is completed.
