It's incredibly important to find a counselor you feel safe and comfortable with. In my experience, clients find it hard to open up in counseling if they experience the counselor as inauthentic. I remain genuine throughout the counseling experience in order to promote a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with you. While I see the benefits of specific counseling techniques and interventions, I believe the counselor-client relationship is the most important aspect of counseling. I work with clients who always or never want sex, who feel guilt or shame about sex, who are feeling overwhelmed by sex, whose genitals aren't working how they want, who are trying to figure out their sexuality, who are unhappy with sex in their relationship, whose relationships have been hurt by their own or their partner's sexuality, and so much more. My passion is working with clients that have been in therapy before and don't believe it will help, struggle to trust others, and are generally resistant to services. I also am Level II trained in Gottman Couple's Therapy and knowledgeable around EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy). I have a passion for working with trauma and have advanced training in EMDR. Cass (he/him/his) is a licensed social worker who specializes in providing queer-affirming mental health and substance use treatment for the LGBTQQIA+ community and their loved ones and allies.
