I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you, as the individual, and the system as a whole. The place that we will create together is a safe and judgement free space. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.

I incorporate an eclectic approach to my therapeutic practice which combines both social work and art therapy techniques. I utilize a combination of several treatment modalities including, positive art therapy, cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based systems, and a person-center approach. I look for the strengths in my clients and help them understand how their situation can be influenced by a number of factors including their thoughts, emotions, social interactions, and environment. I assist them in recognizing their internal strengths and how those positive traits can be used to improve their situations.

My ideal client is ready to do the hard work of making real change in their life. Sometimes, people think change has to be big to start therapeutic services; it doesn’t. Sometimes, learning to breathe, decrease anxiety, and be more mindful of your strengths can become a great asset. Therapy doesn’t have to be forever; sometimes, you just need help getting through the now. I help individuals & families dealing with chronic illnesses and end of life. At times like those, crises often happen: medical conflict, spiritual conflict, familial conflict, financial concerns, housing and food insecurity.

My goal as a psychologist is to help individuals find their full potential. I strive to help clients discover their hidden strengths and areas for growth; thereby learning to more effectively face their concerns. I have extensive training and experience in psychological testing. I provide ADHD and Autism testing for adults and children. I can help clarify or differentiate a diagnosis as well. My strategy with psychological assessment is to help people understand their underlying condition and provide recommendations to help them thrive. I do not accept insurance for psychological testing but do accept insurance for ongoing therapy.
