Life's transitions or hang ups may cause anxiety, shame, peer pressure, & sadness. I give client's the tools to feel empowered & encouraged to welcome change, strive to overcome self doubt/insecurities, and feelings of not being accepted by friends, family, and/or co-workers.

We find that learning to communicate with others in an assertive, non-aggressive manner facilitates creating a foundation for loving, supportive relationships. Although most sessions focus on a narrative, conversational approach, we often incorporate art therapy/play therapy in working with clients of all ages. Our clients are self-motivated individuals/families committed to improving their lives.

I do not believe in "fixing" people because I am not a mechanic and people are not machines. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified EMDR clinician with 30 years of experience who specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing difficulties related to trauma, negative life events, marital issues, addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and grief. I have a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy but also love working with individuals. I have a great deal of experience working with clients who struggle with Anxiety, OCD, trauma, grief, and Depression. I love working with single moms and with divorce issues as I have experienced both first hand. I also have a passion for helping married couples because I know through personal experience that marriage can either be the loneliest thing that one can experience or the best! the good news is that with the necessary work and healing any marriage can be great! I have extensive experience working with adolescents.
