Throughout life’s journey experiencing struggles, sickness, and loss, we sometimes find ourselves in need of the kind of unbiased support and unconditional positive regard that a counselor can provide. We benefit from the sacred space that’s held just for us during therapy, and the healing that occurs in the relationship between ourselves and the counselor, and of course in the healthier relationship we develop with ourselves and others. When we experience the darkness of depression, overwhelming anxiety, trauma, loss, crisis of identity or faith, or even indecision, our personal guidance systems can become temporarily blocked.

Modern life can leave us stressed out, disconnected from each other, and disconnected from ourselves. Human beings have an incredible capacity for adaptation and growth. I believe that therapy is an effective way to tap into the resiliency for which we are all capable. Everyone experiences life’s up and downs, which can include trauma, difficulty adjusting, trouble in interpersonal relationships, mood regulation, self-destructive behaviors, anxiety, depression, and many others.

My role as a therapist is not independent, but a partnership. I am a collaborator and facilitate exploration as a means of helping to determine what best serves you and helping you to empower yourself to make desired changes. I understand that it can be awkward or stressful to make the call or take the step to talk to someone. I will do my best to help you feel safe and comfortable with me. Confidentiality is sacred. If you should find that I am not the therapist for you I will help you find someone who would be a better fit for your needs.
