Discovering that your spouse has been involved in betrayal behaviors such as affairs and/or pornography is one of the most devastating experiences one can incur. I am the Co-Director of the Wellspring Program at Eagles Wing's Counseling Center which is a comprehensive program designed to help both the wounded spouse and the offending spouse navigate through and heal from what has happened. Whether you are staying together, divorcing, or unsure of what you want for the future, there is hope and healing for you!
After working with hundreds of betrayed spouses, myself and my co-director (Jennifer Upton, LMHC), named, described and co-authored a work and assessment tool entailing the unique set of traumatic symptoms and experiences a betrayed spouse goes through, known as Relational Trauma Response.
We take a unique approach to treating this issue focusing on the trauma aspect for the betrayed spouse and rebuilding trust and safety before any "traditional" marriage counseling occurs. We offer individual, marital and groups for both the wounded spouse and the offending spouse and address any underlying addition present.
