My passion is meeting and working with you. I want to walk with you, understand your life and be a support when your life feels like a struggle. I consider myself a holistic practitioner and have been trained in various therapies as well as experienced many aspects of life. My path has included working with military sexual trauma, combat trauma, chronic pain, addictions, family conflict, depression, bi-polar, personality disorders, just to name a few.

My therapeutic skills cover a wide variety of areas, but are particularly well suited to help those who want to actualize their full potential, become Empowered, and for those who have Internet Addiction (i.e. video game addiction, information addiction, social media addiction, entertainment addiction, and spending addiction). Engaging in therapy with me can help you have more agency and set you on the path to becoming who you were made to be. Typical focus areas include improving relationships and communication skills, reducing anxiety, living more authentically, developing balance, setting boundaries, and becoming more assertive.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and based in a genuine and caring relationship with my clients. During our meetings, we will work together to better understand who you are -- your desires and aspirations, your beliefs and feelings, and the patterns that occur in your relationships. I work with clients who live with intense emotions, debilitating depression, immense anxiety, anger, trauma, or the urge to avoid feeling all together. For many this can lead to unrelenting crisis, self invalidation, being hijacked by emotions, impact relationships, and reinforce behaviors that are not in line with the life they want. I create a space to support clients with non-judgmentally looking at their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions that prompt suffering and inhibit access to long term goals. I support clients with recognizing the function of these behaviors, thoughts, and emotions that prompt pain and help find resolution.

My approach to providing therapeutic services is grounded in being person centered. Each person has the potential for health, however, life provides challenges that are barriers to overcome. Sometimes getting stuck in cycles prevents the perspective needed to name the challenges, and also look at new ways to overcome these challenges.

In our fast-paced and oftentimes impersonal world, we crave connection, validation, solutions, and support. Therapy should do that. At Tunnel Light Therapy, it does. I specialize in working with individuals and couples on relationship, sexuality, and trauma-related issues. I am an American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (aasect.org) Certified Sex Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. I use a client-centered, strength-based, and relational approach to therapy. In addition, I have extensive training in attachment-based and experiential therapies (Emotionally Focused Therapy and AEDP) and trauma therapy (EMDR).
