Hello! I am client-centered in my approach, and I believe that treatment should be tailored to the individual client's needs, strengths, and goals. I have training in multiple theoretical approaches, and am dedicated to helping clients heal from past traumas, rebuild their confidence and self-worth, and find meaning in their lives. I believe that although seeking therapeutic help can be intimidating, when we work together to create meaningful change, we can achieve increased life satisfaction and happiness.

I am passionate about working with all adults, 18 and over, on issues ranging from substance abuse, other addictive behaviors, mood disorders, relationship issues, and struggles with every-day living.

My ideal client dares to do the work in therapy and integrate that work outside of the session. I facilitate the creation of secure functioning relationships. For individual clients, that means strong attachment bonds to their sense of self so they can self-regulate and begin to create new opportunities to live a life of beauty, excitement, and exploration. While for my couples therapy clients, we will work on building secure functioning relationships within the partnership through the processes of non-violent communication skills and repairing ruptures promptly.

We enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families who mindfully explore value-driven goals. We welcome you to share your strengths and primary concerns and we develop a measurable solution-focused plan to effect maximized solid change speedily. We identify what can change and what needs acceptance and how to create both. We compassionately offer skills/techniques to reduce anxiety/stress, improve sleep, mood, communication, and resiliently function. We identify triggers, images, thoughts, emotions, sensations, and experiences that cause difficulties and process them to create an optimally healthy mind.

I believe in helping people put the pieces back together. I specialize in trauma issues, self esteem, depression, sex addiction and sexual trauma. Often trauma has a long lasting, but unknown effect on people. Resolving trauma leads to previously unknown levels of fulfillment. When a persons self-esteem is well functioning, their relationships often are also connected and intimate. Sexual addiction is treated in a stigma-free manner. I treat my clients with dignity throughout the process and facilitate a shame-free recovery.

I've been working with children since 1987. I began as a first grade teacher, Pre-K teacher and then yoga instructor. After raising my children, I received my master's degree in mental health counseling. My passion is helping families live more functionally. I am keenly aware of the challenges that occur for children during and after divorce. I specialize in helping children of parent's in high conflict divorces. I utilize a variety of techniques tailored to meet your child's needs.
