My work is grounded in family systems, attachment theory and queer theory, and I adapt these approaches for neurodivergent folks.
I'm glad you're here! I help people free themselves from painful relational patterns and start feeling calm, safe and authentic. I offer individual therapy, couples therapy and therapy for all kinds of relationship structures, including non-monogamous relationships and blended families.

I believe in using an integrative approach that draws from various modalities, including relational, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strength-based, and person-centered.
Hi, I applaud you for taking this step. As a therapist, it's not just about addressing symptoms, but to hold space for all the human emotional experiences. I believe that trust and support are important foundations to our therapeutic relationship. As a second-generation Asian-American, I embrace a learning mindset that encompasses multicultural, intergenerational and intersectional contexts. I offer support in a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, intergenerational trauma and eating disorders.

I use evidence-based interventions such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and somatic practices.
Now accepting new clients in my practice as of 12/18/23 - If you've experienced trauma that caused you to suppress, avoid, and close yourself off from the world - to deny your needs & make yourself small - I feel you. I tried coping with trauma by turning against myself, and it only increased the shame and isolation. I'm sure there's a part of you who is curious about finding another way, who realizes you are more than your struggles. Together, we can experiment with changing your relationship to your anxiety, OCD, trauma, and identity concerns, so you can reconnect with what you need to live a rich and fulfilling life.

My approach is informed by IFS, DBT, and somatic methods in the context of trauma-informed psychodynamic work.
I believe everyone has the innate capacity to heal, and approach therapy as a way of counteracting the influence of systems of oppression that can stand in the way of self-acceptance, embodiment, and connecting with others. I work with a variety of challenges to connection and wellbeing, including anxiety, self-worth, interpersonal relationships, gender and sexuality, trauma (CPTSD, intergenerational, identity-related), and integrating difficult emotions.

Thus, my approach is integrative and experiential, including AEDP, CBT, EFT, EMDR, IFS, mindfulness meditation, and other evidence-based therapies.
I believe we all want to feel safe, to feel genuinely seen, to have meaningful connection, to be able to weather challenges, and to feel, deep down, that we are good enough and not alone. When we better understand our inner patterns and all our parts feel welcome and seen, then we can tap into the natural ability of our brains and bodies to learn and transform. Beneath our protective defenses and habits, I believe every one of us is curious, courageous, loving, and worthy of love. As flowers turn toward the sun, humans are evolved for resilience. I work closely with clients to rediscover their natural inner resources for healing.

I use mindfulness-based, internal family systems, emotion-focused, Imago relationships, and psychedelic integration therapies.
While it is true that most of us are products of our environment, histories, and current circumstances, we need not be forever defined or limited by them. But how do we move from merely surviving each day to thriving for the long term? Transforming relationships with family, friends, community, society, and most importantly, ourselves, can help us navigate there. If daily life seems overwhelming, unfulfilling, hopeless, or restrictive, my practice can help you clarify your values and needs, expand your coping skillset, create or deepen your connections, and build a meaningful future for your corner of the world.

My approach combines traditional psychodynamic foundations with evidence-based practice including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Internal Family Systems therapy.
Brene Brown once said that “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” My ideal client is a courageous adult ready to begin the journey toward seeing, hearing, appreciating, and valuing themselves for the beautiful, vulnerable, imperfect, lovable, authentic, and worthy person that they are. I am a clinician who values the importance of creating a warm, non-judgmental, and meaningful therapeutic experience that is tailored to support each person’s unique individual needs.

I have used Art Therapy throughout my career, as well as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused, Family Systems and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
The decision to begin therapy can be challenging and can follow attempts to manage difficult life circumstances independently. I believe that healing begins when there is a safe, non judgmental space to grow a therapeutic relationship. I spent the early part of my career working extensively with adolescents and families which allowed me the opportunity to help them work through their trauma as they struggled with grief and loss, anxiety, self-injury, depression and PTSD. Additionally, I spent almost 7 years in an outpatient clinic as an Administrator, also providing clinical counseling to children, adults and families.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
