I offer therapy and assessment for children, adolescents and adults, to address difficulties with mood, anxiety, attention, learning, emotion regulation, and identity. I am affirmative of neurodiversity, which includes individuals who are ADHD, Autistic, Gifted, or who have learning differences. Traditional approaches often do not affirm the lived experience of a child or adult who is “differently wired” or who is having a hard time. Through open-minded exploration and creative problem-solving, therapy can help to develop greater self-knowledge, confidence, acceptance, psychological flexibility, and interpersonal effectiveness.
I meet people "where they are at" and individualize treatment based on their unique needs and experiences. Treatment is guided by principles of CBT, ACT and family systems. My work is informed by clinical science. My background includes Institute of Child Development, Gifted Child Clinic, Dyslexia Center of Princeton, NIMH, Emory (PhD), and Princeton (BA).
During an initial appointment, we will clarify your objectives and determine what will be most helpful: assessment, therapy, or a referral. With minors, the role of parent consultation, involvement, and privacy will be discussed at the first session. For therapy to work, client and therapist must both commit to regular weekly appointments.
