With 13+ year career in Behavioral Health, I'm trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization&Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego-state/IFS therapies, Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) & Motivational Interviewing.
History shows us that at some point during our lives, we will all need some form of help. So, if we take our legal needs to Lawyers, medical needs to Doctors, why wouldn't we take our mental & emotional needs to a Therapist? Journeying through life can often be confusing & challenging. Life is all about connection to ourselves, a spouse, families or Creator. Connection takes work! So, when we've run out of resources to deal with issues, we often feel lost. I'm passionate about supporting individuals, couples, & families address challenges associated with life & trauma, because nobody effortlessly waltzes into great relationships.

I am certificated in Internal Family Systems, my forte, and use the IFS approach to befriend and unburden your parts and discover their inherent gifts.
Would you like to reconnect to your authentic self? Are you fed up with doing the same things that don't work? As a therapist, I provide a safe place to become curious about experiences that burden you from enjoying your life. Do you want to stop criticizing yourself? Do you want to find relief from extreme behaviors, anxiety, and depression? Possibly you feel isolated from others or altered by a traumatic experience. I am listening. I welcome all aspects of you to be heard.

I tend to draw on experiential therapy modalities, such as AEDP and IFS.
Life can be overwhelming at times. Sometimes we feel stuck and totally alone in our experience (you are not alone!). No matter what has brought you to this moment, I believe in your resilience and your innate ability to overcome adversity. Your truth is honored and important, as you are the expert on your story. My intention is to create a safe and compassionate space, where you are able to release the beliefs that have limited you, and begin to feel empowered to live as your most authentic Self. I am passionate about supporting women and emerging adults through life transitions, anxiety, and depression.

I use an holistic approach to therapy. I specialize in C-PTSD, complex trauma (a.k.a- "capital-T trauma") survivors of religious and childhood trauma. I am trained in bottom up brain therapies such as EMDR and Brainspotting. I offer a calm, supportive and nonjudgemental approach to therapy. I assist clients in healing their wounds that contribute to the chaos in their nervous system, mind and/or their body.

Counseling that reaches the root cause of anxiety, self-sabotaging behaviors, and internal suffering begins with an intimate setting. Holistic and well-researched Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provide the pathway to feeling unburdened and open to new possibilities. "The light in me honors the light in you." Let's get to work.

Hi! Each of us walks our own path. I primarily use IFS (Internal Family Systems) and can help you reconnect and build relationships with all parts of yourself. I can offer you a pathway to your inner world and journey alongside you as we rediscover what was lost, returning to parts stranded in dark corners of the past with tenderness and compassion. The majority of my experience includes working with childhood trauma, neglect, depression, anxiety, codependency and grief. As a first-generation Middle Eastern American, I wholeheartedly understand adverse experiences, cultural burdens and identity conflicts that keep us feeling lost.

I strive to incorporate evidence-based interventions for best outcomes, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Structural Dissociation, CBT, and mindfulness.
Do you find yourself struggling to keep afloat, noticing that despite all your work something's missing? Are you always pushing for more and more, wondering when you'll finally be “good enough," yet that inner critic still says you're insignificant, bad, broken, or just "wrong?" I would like to help you break that cycle. I specialize in supporting high-achieving adults to harness the compassion and power within themselves to live their dreams and chase their goals, all while feeling whole and fulfilled. I understand that self-doubt, comparison, and criticism are powerful forces that can take a serious toll on your mental health.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
