It is a fact that each of us will come to a point in our lives when we feel powerless, afraid, angry, sad, and without much hope to move forward. My ideal client is an individual who is experiencing grief and is aware that how they are trying to cope is not working. My client is open to using mindfulness and holistic approaches simultaneously with therapy to help alleviate the harm associated with addiction, anxiety, depression and trauma. My ideal client is looking to create a healthy space to grieve, grow, and move towards a life of hope.

My background is unique and varied which provides a broad range of knowledge, and experiences from having served in the U.S. Army, worked in Law Enforcement for over twenty-five years, worked on a church staff and as Therapist. I find it rewarding to help individuals realize their potential, see hope in a better future and becoming their best selves in life. We should not be defined by the negative beliefs we hold about ourselves but in the positive changes we can make. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, groups, adults, and adolescents.

My name is Kendrique, and I am an Intern Marriage and Family Therapist.

I consider it a great honor to walk with you in your journey. I approach therapy and counseling through a trauma-informed, attachment based lens. Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, I spent 25 years in the field of physical therapy working with those suffering from physical pain. This previous experience in working with those suffering physically has given me insight into how our emotional and physical well-being are two sides of the same coin. Because of this experience, I strive to approach counseling from a holistic perspective paying close attention to the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of each person.

My vision for counseling is to see people and families walk through life’s struggles with the help of others and hope for the future. We are all shaped by the relationships we form and our unique life experiences. The way we respond to those encounters tells us something about who we are. I am a Licensed Social Worker in Alabama with 24 years of experience providing mental health and behavioral counseling in various settings and various aspects of counseling. My client populations includes, but is not limited to working with adolescents, adults, geriatrics with a variety of mental health/behavioral presenting issues . As a skilled therapist and coach, my goal is to work with clients in providing strategies to overcome emotional, behavioral, and mental health barriers to well-being. My goal is to meet clients where they are and develop strategies that empower them to walk in wholeness and live the life they desire
