I'm currently recruiting clients for 4 different IFS based support groups: 1) for Men, 2) for Divorcing(ed) Persons, 3) for Highly Sensitive Persons, and 4) for Women Without Children.
I work with individuals/couples who have achieved in many ways but still feel lost, unfulfilled, or in need of change. Many have worked to gain clarity and make meaning of their life and unhealthy patterns in relationships but somehow keep finding themselves stuck in the same place. If you want to bring greater awareness to what is unconsciously driving you and your relationships working together may help you to understand yourself, create change and find more contentment. I specialize in working with individuals/couples seeking better self understanding, communication and intimacy using IFS and Jungian inquiry in CO, VT, DE

yoga therapy, parts work/IFS, and the polyvagal theory, I provide my clients with an education regarding the central nervous system, how it responds to environmental stressors, and how to self-regulate.
Depression, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship issues, codependency, difficulty communicating or setting boundaries, overwhelm, dysregulation, a lost sense of self, or any other discomforts stemming from childhood trauma can make adult life even harder to navigate. As meaning-making creatures, finding a sense of clarity regarding our experiences goes a long way towards reconnnecting with our true selves, regulating our emotions, and reaching our healing goals. If you are intuitive/empathic and have a deep desire to strengthen your connection to yourself and examine/release patterns that no longer serve you, we may be a good match!

A seed grows with no sound, but a tree falls with huge noise. Destruction has noise, but creation is quiet. This is the power of silence. Grow silently. - Confucius... To grow silently means to go within, to be aware, to have courage in the face of fear. If you're struggling with addiction, trauma, grief, anxiety/depression, boundaries and learning to be assertive or trying to find your meaning and purpose in world filled with noise. Then perhaps I can be of help.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
