I have a compassionate heart and a deep desire to show people just how much beauty and brilliance they have within themselves. My goal is to lend hope, guidance, and expertise to those in search of healing, and I wish to help my clients feel seen, honored, and safe.

There is nothing quite like a safe space to just be and heal. I would love to provide that for you as we unpack challenges such as stress management, anxiety, depression, relationship matters, parenthood, the peri-natal journey (conception, pregnancy, child loss, childbirth, postpartum, etc.), trauma, and life and career transitions, among others. As a first-generation Nigerian-American, I am especially passionate about holding space for those who identify as immigrants, children of immigrants and undocumented citizens to work through the often complex acculturation experiences and unique stresses they may face.

Now taking new clients! I believe in taking a holistic and person-centered approach to therapy. Each person's experiences and challenges are unique, and I tailor treatment plans to meet the specific needs of clients. Using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Somatic therapy, and Breathwork, I help clients develop coping strategies, gain insight into their thoughts and emotions, and make positive changes in their lives. I specialized in ages 12 and up with Eating disorders, PTDS, Trauma, ADHD, LGBTQ+ issues, anxiety, depression and Narcissistic abuse recovery.

If you or your loved one are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, and/or grief, it may be time to seek support from a licensed counselor. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore feelings and experiences while promoting personal growth. Since I am extensively trained and experienced in play therapy, I am most known for working with children and teens. However, I do provide counseling for all ages.

Jana Lea Walker is an integrative Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor with over 25 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse field. She specializes in treating adults who are suffering from depression, anxiety, mood disorder, substance use, interpersonal, trauma, infidelity, and grief.

Life's emotional challenges can sometimes interfere with our ability to maintain a productive and fulfilling life. It can be difficult and frightening to reach out for help. But you have already shown strength and courage by taking the first step towards a healthy and balanced life. With a focus on strengths rather than weakness, I am motivated to help clients recognize how their past experiences are connected with their current concerns. I am passionate about helping individuals heal from their traumatic experiences. Trauma hides in plain sight and disguises itself in many forms.

I believe there is power in connection and freedom in processing our hurt. Having someone sit with you as you untangle your thoughts, experiences, beliefs, and feelings can be so healing. My personal story of childhood trauma and addiction led me to pursue professional counseling for myself personally and eventually as a career. I work with people who are struggling to find steadiness in their lives. Wherever you are in life, I would love to meet with you exactly there: in the chaos, the calm, and anywhere in between. I specialize in working with children/ teens/ adults struggling with problems that interfere with social, emotional, behavioral and academic functioning. I believe in a collaborative, down to earth, child-centered and child-friendly, non-judgmental, compassionate and strengths perspective approach when working with children and families in need. My focus will be on building a strong and trusting relationship where your child and family can share openly and work towards healing. I believe in not only addressing problems in goal oriented ways, but also to build on your child's and your family strengths in meeting your therapy goals.
