My clinical work is dedicated to working with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in working with families, including developmental, behavioral, social, and/or emotional concerns of children, parenting difficulties, and family stress/conflict. I have specific expertise in the field of pediatric (health) psychology and the assessment/treatment of very early children (the first five years). Regardless of age, the goal of care is to decrease distress and increase general well-being and joy.

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples for twenty-five years in different clinical settings such as mental health centers and private agencies. I have experience with treating a wide variety of disorders and I specialize in grief and trauma. My training includes cognitive behavior therapy and EMDR.

Providing a compassionate and trusting therapeutic relationship is a priority in treatment. I strive to guide people to develop their inner strengths and wisdom, and to release negative thought and behavioral patterns through a variety of therapeutic techniques. I am highly trauma-focused, as well as spiritually-oriented. A relaxed and non-judgmental environment is provided to all persons, regardless of culture, religion, age, economic status, sexuality, or gender. I treat all ages and all mental health concerns and collaborate with needed professionals to ensure the most effective treatment. Office hours are usually available to accommodate work and school schedules.

We all go through difficult life experiences that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed with behavioral responses that are no longer serving us well. Finding meaning in difficult emotions and life events can be very helpful in moving forward. I feel passionate about providing a nonjudgemental space for clients to engage in self exploration while focusing on healing. I work with individuals, children, and families, bringing warmth and understanding to the relationships and life problems that surround us.

I have been an active member of my community for most of my life. I began caring for others at age 15 by working as a nursing assistant in a local nursing home. I have volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician and was a foster parent for nearly 100 children over a 13 year time span. I am passionate about helping people of all ages reach their personal or professional goals.
