I am a doctoral-level licensed clinical psychologist who provides therapy and comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to children, adolescents, and their families. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, behavioral disorders, difficulties in adjustment, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also provide neuropsychological to clarify concerns such as ADHD, executive functioning deficits, and specific learning disorders. My philosophy is to provide children and adolescents with the tools they need to thrive at home and school through evidence-based interventions.

Aurora recognizes the important roles that relationships, experiences, and beliefs play in our daily lives. Our family and childhood influence our personal development; however, they are not the only determinants of who we become. We are not static beings but live in a state of constant flux, continuing to grow and having the capacity to choose change. Sometimes, changes may feel unwanted, scary or overwhelming. We may struggle in adjusting to them, or feel stuck in old patterns of responding that no longer work for us. Aurora adopts a client-centered approach and values all aspects of a person's physical, mental, and social world.

I particularly enjoy working with clients who are working on increasing their self-esteem, improving emotional processing, and individuals wanting to enhance overall wellness. By learning new ways of understanding themselves, and by seeking new coping strategies for dealing with stress, clients can gain greater confidence being their authentic self, both in therapy sessions and out in the world. My goal is to support clients through their journey towards self-understanding, self-compassion, and confidence.

I work with individuals ages 18 and up. I have interest and experience in working with anxiety, attention and concentration issues, body image issues, depression, self-worth/self-esteem and stress. I strive to meet each individual where they are at and develop treatment goals based on what the client believes will make positive changes for their lives. I believe that with the right amount of encouragement and support everyone is capable of making positive changes.

Everyone needs support at various times in their lives. Each of us has a point in our journey where we “get stuck” and need help. My therapeutic approach is to assist you in pinpointing these obstacles that have prevented you from moving forward, to be your best self. Together we will set goals and find the tools necessary to develop the skills you need to work through your struggles. I strive to meet clients where they are at in the therapeutic process, with the understanding that each client has unique individual needs that need to be met.

Whether you're newly curious about your inner world, or you're an experienced therapy client wanting to delve deeper (or anything in between!), I support clients in expanding their self understanding and shifting old patterns of thinking and feeling. I am EMDR certified, and a consultant in training. EMDR is powerful, particularly when integrated with ego state and somatic techniques, for healing trauma and for issues ranging from anxiety to phobias to chronic pain to negative views of self. And, it works quite well over telehealth!

My clients can change anxiety, ADHD, autism, or pain with live heart and brain feedback called biofeedback or neurofeedback in online visits. Clients control music volume on their phones with their calm attention levels with free biofeedback equipment I provide. It is easy mindfulness therapy for kids and adults. It is proven to work as well as medication for anxiety, ADHD, and pain. I have years of experience as a therapist, and have taught clinicians at The University of MN Medical Center and elsewhere.
