Dr. Samuels specializes in the provision of forensic assessment services including parental competency, violence risk assessment, sexual offender risk assessment, mental status at the time of the offense, criminal competencies (e.g. competency to stand trial), malingering and psychopathy. The most important aspect to your choice in finding the right counselor is your ability to feel emotionally safe and vulnerable in session. Feeling heard, connected, and validated in a non-judgemental environment is the best predictor to having a successful counseling experience. We currently have EMDR trained interns & pre-licesned providers charging $25-$75 per session.

Children often do not have the right words to express their thoughts and feelings. I will work with your child and family to find healing. Play therapy involves children sharing their feelings and working through problems using play rather than just talking. The toys are the child's words and play is the child's language. I use a variety of techniques including sandtray, play therapy, art therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help process difficult life situations, for adults, teens and children.
