I work with children, adolescents, and families who are experiencing a wide variety of presenting problems. My approach to therapy is supportive, genuine, and collaborative, which allows children and adolescents to reach their fullest potential. I have worked with children and teens for over ten years across a number of settings, including community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, schools, and private practice.

Living in a changing and challenging world, it is normal to experience psychological dysregulation at one point or another. The new reality of living has presented and will continue to present numerous challenges. I assist patients with a wide range of difficulties including depression, anxiety (including school, personal or work-induced – social anxiety), behavioral issues, adjustment disorders, maternal mental health, trauma, and relational challenges. I have worked within the mental health field since 2006 and developed my skills and expertise working with children, adults, and older adults.

I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.

I specialize in parent-child relational challenges, anxiety, behavior problems, postpartum depression/anxiety/adjustment, and testing and evaluation.

My integrative approach draws from a combination of practices including mindfulness-based interventions, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and somatic practice which focuses on the mind body connection to help my clients cope with their issues, increase self-esteem, and develop emotional regulation and resiliency. In younger children, I use play therapy to facilitate communication and gain a deeper understanding of their needs.
