Dr. Kavanagh is the owner and founder of North Shore Children's Neuropsychology, which offer neuropsychological assessment, counseling, and consultation to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in Boston's North Shore. Dr. Kavanagh earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, her master's degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College, and her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Virginia. She has extensive training and experience working with children as young as 2, and can offer services across the lifespan

As your therapist I help you look at the story you have constructed about yourself and identify the beliefs and assumptions that have held you back. Together we gather insights and then develop a course of action to get your life back on track. I have a deep knowledge of how adult ADHD affects every aspect of one's life and every relationship in it. It is hard to feel competent when those around you feel they can't rely on you. Together we design strategies that employ your strengths and talents enabling you to produce the results you want.

Dr. Schneider is the owner and founder of Essex Pediatric Neuropsychology in Marblehead, MA. She is a pediatric neuropsychologist who specializes in assessing children, adolescents, and adults with learning differences (e.g., dyslexia), executive functioning deficits, inattention, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, and other developmental/ medical conditions (e.g., developmental delays, prematurity/low birth weight, concussion). Her goal is to help identify a child’s unique strengths and challenges and to advocate for the best way to support each child emotionally, socially, and academically.

As your therapist, I can provide you with a safe and comfortable space for approaching challenges and developing creative solutions. I will become your guide as you work your way out of feeling "stuck" within situations or thoughts that may have become too difficult to manage. I use an experiential, trauma-informed, and strengths-based treatment approach that combines action-oriented and reflective techniques based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Psychotherapy (including EMDR), Expressive Arts Therapy, Nature-Based & Wilderness Therapy, and Mindfulness practices.

These have been difficult times and many have felt the need for counsel to deal with concerns shared by all of us. At the same time, every therapy client is a unique individual and deserves care and concern for this. Problems in living can be lessened using "here and now" techniques such as CBT, and focusing on present concerns. They can also be alleviated by looking to the past to find where some issues had their beginning. Sometimes looking at both the present and the past is helpful moving toward goals. Either can help, and sometimes a combination is effective.
