As a psychologist, I work collaboratively with individuals ages 18+ to help them explore what has led to current life difficulties and to work toward the changes they desire. I am a generalist in that I work with many different presenting issues from relationship difficulties to anxiety and depression. However, I have developed particular interest in working with trauma, adult survivors of childhood abuse, cancer issues, spiritual concerns, and with people with intuitive and empathic gifts. I take an integrative approach to my work drawing heavily on interpersonal, psychodynamic and mindfulness -based cognitive therapy models.

My therapeutic process is integrative and collaborative.
No matter where you are on this journey we call life, we can all benefit from support, free of judgment, to explore, grow, and evolve into the best versions of ourselves. It's exhausting and overwhelming, the feeling of being stuck in a seemingly endless cycle. Your thoughts run away with you, anxious and jumbled, trying to make sense of everything that has happened in your life, leading you up to this point. You want to make lasting changes, but deciding where to start feels impossible. You desire happiness, peace, and balance, but it is so hard to get perspective on your own. I would be honored to support you in self-exploration.

Have you reached a place where you find yourself with nothing left to give? The act of giving is entangled with caring. Caring requires energy. Energy that you no longer have. It appears as though everyone (yes, everyone) relies on you for something. They expect you to sacrifice yourself to satisfy their needs & wants, regardless of your needs, let alone wants. Their dependence on you to satisfy their wants & needs is overwhelming and heavy. Women are conditioned to carry heavy loads at the expense of self.

Hello! I have over 25 years of experience & specialize in anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, self-regulation and recovery. I value in depth assessment which informs our process. Unlike some types of supportive counseling, I offer education about how life experiences are hardwired into our brains & how this impacts all aspects of life and our relationships. I also focus on teaching skills to transform anxiety and stress into resilience, calm, and increased joy. To do that, I use mindfulness, somatic/body-based skills, brainspotting, neurofeedback, psychedelic & ketamine - assisted psychotherapy, RRT, and nature-based connection.

Emotional awareness and processing are skills that many of us didn't get in our childhoods. Maybe we had a caregiver who was emotionally absent, unaware or even preoccupied with other things. Often work, relationships or sometimes even addictions. This absence of this attunement often leaves lingering core wounds in the adult child. These wounds can manifest as fear of emotions and even a distrust of oneself in one's ability to navigate the more difficult emotions. Even the lack self love and care. We learn how to simply cope with life or "survive". There is so much more to life than simply coping and surviving.

If you suffer from trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss and life transitions, feel free to reach out and give me a call. These are areas I have worked with for the past 30 years of my career. It can be challenging to find the "right fit for you" therapist. Healing is possible or I would not be doing what I do. It may take time to feel better. There are no magic wands and if it sounds too good to be true.. it probably is. Therapy can be hard work and also very rewarding.

How about, just being emotionally drained from carrying your own load and someone else’s? If that SOUNDS like a lot, it’s because it IS a lot.

I spent most of the first half of my life in therapy myself and now, as I move into my sixties, I find it an honor and privilege to use my experience, education and skills to help my clients. My passion is working with those who are ready to peel another layer off the "proverbial onion", transforming what no longer serves them and creating lives of meaning, purpose and joy. I've accumulated a "toolkit" of effective modalities and those, combined with your own desire to grow and evolve is a powerful combination. I am currently accepting new clients.

Integrative Therapists
What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
