I am a mental health coach and consultant who provides structured, non-medical, short-term, culturally responsive support to clients using an integrative approach.
Have you reached an impasse while attempting to navigate life's challenges? Are you seeking ease, balance, alignment or clarity as you deal with experiences that leave you feeling overwhelmed? Are you wanting to unlearn unproductive and unhealthy patterns and embrace ways to enhance your overall wellbeing? Are you feeling paralyzed by people-pleasing, boundary setting and relationship ruptures? Mental health support helps and having a "guide on the side" to assist you in leaning into inner strengths/resources is a road worth traveling.

You have been through a trauma, loss. Something so painful it defies words. You are looking for more than coping tools (although some of that is good!), you are looking to feel better and create meaning from these hard experiences. You want to leave painful experiences behind but you find yourself reacting intensely to things in a way that makes you realize that your pain gets activated more than you want it to. You’re ready to both develop insight and coping tools and release your pain from your nervous system. I am a certified EMDR provider and completed coursework as a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medical Provider.

If you are struggling with sexual concerns, you have come to the right place. Some sexual concerns may include: low/high sexual desire, desire discrepancy, a sexless relationship, sexual difficulties (e.g. painful sex, early/delayed ejaculation), sexual trauma, rebuilding emotional and sexual intimacy, and unhealthy relationship patterns. Or perhaps you are struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors. You have realized that your sexual thoughts and behaviors are getting out of hand, or you have discovered that your partner is compulsively using sex or porn. You are feeling understandably betrayed, hurt, angry, and confused.

My particular expertise and interest is in working with survivors of trauma, abuse and victimization. Having survived trauma, abuse and victimization can lead to a variety of outcomes. Some people survive trauma with no problems at all, while other people develop anxiety, depression, substance use, personality or relationship issues. Various traumatic events, such as parental divorce or substance abuse, are very common even in middle class populations and have often both physical and psychological effects many years after the experienced trauma.

I have a virtual private practice in California where I work with teens, and adults. I consider therapy a relationship we co-create specifically to suit your needs; one to help you feel safe, heard, and respected. I have a relational style, meaning you will receive feedback from me, and never feel like you're talking to a blank wall. We all share an intrinsic longing for hope, wholeness, empowerment, and meaning. It's my privilege to help clients nourish that longing into a drive; to help them gain a sense of mastery and direction in their own lives.

What is important in your life? You and those you love are the start and end of this list. When we struggle internally and within our relationships, every part of our life is affected. Our work together gets to the real stuff, where you get to live and love by your values. Together, your concerns and heartaches lessen and you are able to show up as the best version of yourself. It's not to big of an ask to want to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. We can get you there.

You deserve to live the life of your wildest dreams. You may feel stuck, alone, and lost. These are difficult states of mind to experience. My greatest joy in life is assisting clients in reconnecting to that authentic heart-centered place within themselves to access their unlimited potential to create wealth and abundance in; career, all relationships (family/friends/romantic), finances, emotional wellbeing, physical health, creative expression, connection, community, and spiritual growth. This is for those who are looking to do the deep work of observing themselves and finding what really serves their highest purpose.

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Have you experienced traumas that have left you feeling stressed? Or perhaps you're simply looking to understand yourself better and lead to a happier life. If these resonate with you, I can help. As a Taiwanese American who immigrated to America at a young age, I have firsthand experience of the challenges individuals from AAPI/immigrant communities face. I also understand the unique challenges the LGBTQ population faces, and I'm committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all of my clients.

We are all traveling on this journey we call life. While it can be full of moments of beauty, joy, and wonder, it can also plunge us into the depths of fear, darkness, and loneliness. We can be trapped in an endless chorus of worry, weighed down by expectations from ourselves and others, full of doubt and struggling to see our own worth or a way forward, and sometimes even our own bodies feel like they are abandoning us. Allow me to be a guide for whatever path you are on. You do not have to do it alone. My specialty areas include helping adults with anxiety, depression, chronic pain and medical conditions, insomnia, and trauma.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
