My ideal client is one who is struggling with one or many life issues ....anxiety, feelings of low self esteem or worthlessness. Maybe there are unresolved issues that result in problems in the way their anger is expressed. Perhaps the anger has turned inward and the client is masking their pain with substances including food, or excesses in any ineffective way. There might be a relationship upheaval resulting in guilt, self blame and feelings of regret. My client may have grief resulting from a recent loss, or may be ready to work through emotions from a previous loss.. They need a safe place to feel, grieve,be restored and heal.
I can help you by building a strong therapeutic alliance, use various modalities to effect successful engagement which leads to change. Targeting what the client needs most: bibliography, creative expressions, talk therapy, movement, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for PTSD. Assess motivation for change, confront resistance and denial as needed.
