I've had the honor serving Michigan and Florida for 15 plus years working with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. I've provided individual therapy, group therapy, skills training, and case management to our community youth and adults, including those with Special Needs. I have started up 2 successful mental health programs in the city of Detroit. I now work in a small private practice to continue my passion of providing therapy and behavior modification to the community. Currently I am only providing individual therapy. It is truly an honor to be here for you.
At this time, I generally focus on the following conditions: 1) General Maintenance (i.e., anxiety, depression, anger, self esteem). 2) Symptoms of Behavioral Dysregulation 3) Symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. 4) Traumatic Brain Injury 5) Developmental Disabilities (i.e., Autism, Special Needs) 6) Court-Ordered Counseling (i.e., Sub Abuse/alcohol).
We all need the Skills and Tools to be Successful. Individual therapy is intertwined with DBT informed skills training where you will learn and practice Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills. Groups
Group Skills Training (CLOSED)
CLOSED AT THIS TIME. For those whom prefer a group setting, my small groups run Monday through Saturday. However, I do not necessarily run group therapy where we focus on our problems. Instead, I conduct Group Skills training sessions in which I teach and we practice Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills. Each group member receives a skills training binder. Each group lasts approximately 2 hours with a 15 minute break. The groups are open to the entire community including persons with special needs. Groups are formed based on age and level of functioning.
