When three words are said out loud together, it can be a time of great sadness, grief and uncertainity. You ask what are the three words? They are end of life. It is a challenging topic to discuss, manage, feel and navigate through. There are many pieces involved. So many moving parts. Where do you turn after you receive a diagnosis? Who is someone who is safe, nonjudgmental and compassionate that is understanding at the same time.
I am passionate about supporting people at the end of their lives. It started 25 years ago in the UK. I had an incredible opportunity to work as a medical social worker on an oncology floor. I worked along side of four incredible women, we supported individuals and families in this delicate and tender space. This is where the journey began and continues.
All of us have thoughts, questions, fears and curiosity about the end of life. I do. My hope is that I could provide a soft place to land with conversations and goal setting about end of life.
