About
My belief around therapy is to focus on what you want to accomplish, drawing from strengths you already possess. This tends to be more active and interactive. Most of my focus has been with individuals and couples that are facing an impasse, realizing they might not have the tools to move forward. For some, it may be an ongoing concern like managing anxiety/depression, enhancing communication, healing from 'the past'. For some there is an experience or event that is prohibiting forward movement... relationally, be it enhancing stability, increasing intimacy or overall improvement in the quality of relationship.
Intimacy enhancement may include communications skills- assertiveness, addressing desire and/or desire discrepancies, overall performance/enjoyment. Unfortunately for many couples, intimacy is an unsatisfactory part of the relationship. You can achieve 'being heard, being seen and for many, 'satisfaction'.
Have you found yourself feeling alone in a relationship, or frustrated with the quality of relationship(s) in your life? Many people have come in with that very 'challenge' and created stronger relationships, with clear communication and a sense of connection. Don't hope that things change- create change.
