I treat codependency...a fancy word for over-focusing on others and under-focusing on you. Letting others determine your self-esteem is a dangerous thing to do. But when you're harmed as a kid, you learn that you don't matter. You come away from childhood with broken "antennae". You don't see unhealthy traits in others. Too much pain teaches you to ignore your feelings and live in your head. It's a trick that gets you through childhood, but it sabotages adult relationships. My passion is helping you use your voice to get what you want.
Trust your gut instead of doubt yourself. Know what you feel and set healthy boundaries with others. Increase communication skills. Become an active listener. Replace unhealthy beliefs with helpful, moderate thinking. Learn to problem solve. Manage stress. Set healthy boundaries. Get your needs met.
I use cognitive behavioral and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help you reach your goals. Like a coach, I play an active part in therapy. Clients seek me out for relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, and for managing anger. Master's in Clinical Psychology, Antioch University. Certified Anger Management Specialist. Mindful Parenting.

Ingrid Caswell's Groups
Anger Management Group
People with the best chance at successful relationships learn to manage anger effectively and resolve conflicts. This group is designed to help participants develop empathy - the ability to relate to how another person is feeling - as well as strategies for expressing anger constructively. The group will help you identify your anger triggers and then, through a series of interactive, cognitive behavioral exercises, learn ways to cope with them. You will discover what contributes to your anger through worksheets and assessments; explore connections between anger and substance abuse, mood disorders, and trauma; and take the power out of anger provoking situations.
