Hello! I am a therapist, military spouse (recently retired) and Mom of 2. I have a passion for serving families who serve and sacrifice for our nation! For many years I lived the active duty military lifestyle. I know first-hand the pain of infertility as a military spouse and navigated fertility treatments in Military Training Facilities. I have lived through deployments and unaccompanied remote assignments as a young mom while managing home, kids, career and community service to fellow military spouses and families. I know the pain of being away from extended family, frequent moves and all the adventures of service life!

Many of my clients enter therapy for the first time not knowing what to expect. As your therapist, I will explain the therapy process and paint a clear picture of where we are going. I work to provide an empathetic, safe environment for all of my clients, but I am especially skilled at helping clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transition & existential issues. My training also equips me to work with couples and families struggling with a wide variety of challenges. Some of these may include infidelity, parenting issues, and pre-marital counseling. I love helping couples connect who are struggling to do so.

Leslie is an accomplished psychotherapist, licensed professional counselor and esteemed life coach. As an undergraduate, Leslie attended Depaul University in Chicago, where she earned a B.A. in Communication, then attended Southern Methodist University, where she earned her Master of Science in Counseling. Leslie achieved excellence as a college athlete. She was a Division I softball pitcher at University of Washington and Depaul University, and participated in the College World Series. She inspires her clients to set healthy personal, lifestyle and relationship goals, and to realize those goals through structured self-examination

I am a licensed psychologist who has worked with mental health disorders in settings such as residential substance abuse treatment centers, community mental health, intimate partner violence shelters, and private practice. My areas of interest include healthy relationships, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. I am currently conducting therapy with adolescents, adults, and couples.

I love working with clients who are seeking to identify and change patterns in thought, communication, and relationships. My clients are individuals and couples who are experiencing struggles and roadblocks in how they view and interact with themselves and others. I enjoy helping people grow in awareness of what is causing their issues and learn how to effect change in their lives and relationships. Greg Powers serves as the Vice President of Clinical Services for Discovery Point Retreat. Greg holds dual Bachelor degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas and completed his education with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans. Greg has specialized in the treatment of substance abuse, grief and loss as well as trauma. Greg is certified in EMDR and trauma response and crisis interventions along with a certification in crisis intervention with first responders. Throughout his career Greg has held positions of leadership in both for-profit and non-profit facilities.

When real life hits...I work with clients who are dealing with complicated real life issues: anger management, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, marital problems, adolescent issues and behavioral problems, chemical dependency, divorce recovery, trauma recovery, addictions and compulsive behaviors, and behavioral issues, providing prenatal and postpartum counseling.

It is my belief that psychotherapy has the best chance to be effective when the client and therapist have a strong therapeutic alliance. That is, they have a good working relationship and are working toward exactly the same goals using methods or approaches best suited for the client. I strive to achieve this by providing a warm and safe climate, listening closely to the needs of my clients, and discussing our options and strategies.
