I specialize in supporting aspiring parents and new moms navigate things like infertility, anxiety, depression, and pregnancy or postpartum challenges. I draw on CBT methods as well as first hand knowledge of the struggles on the road to building a family. No one should go through this period of life alone and I am here to offer support and a toolkit to heal, accept, and cope. With couples, I draw on EFT and Gottman methods. I can offer a Christian/faith-based lens to clients who connect in that way. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy intern completing my graduate program at RCC. Book online at www.resolutioncc.com/team

I have more than 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I offer individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults. I believe the therapeutic relationship must be supported and safe, as an effective way to explore life challenges while feeling fully accepted and understood. I strongly believe that a successful relationship between therapist and client leads to lasting change. During this difficult time due to the Covid-19 I'm offering phone sessions in order reduce the stress to come to the office and have the session from hour home.

My style is very warm & caring with a strong detail for eliciting emotional honesty. Appropriate humor with an inquisitive dialogue bring deep & real issues to light. My primary goal is to build a safe and trusting relationship with you. I strive to understand your 'reality' while also exploring some of the biased/outdated beliefs that we all hold, which construct our current 'reality'. If you are looking to have a meaningful, honest & open relationship with your therapist then we would be a good fit. Gratefully, I've witnessed amazing transformations with hard working individuals, couples & families.

I work with clients to help them make important changes in their lives and to overcome difficult life circumstances or obstacles. I aim to understand each client as a unique individual and to build upon the inherent strengths that the person brings to therapy. I find our mental health is just as important as our physical health.

Are you feeling anxious and out of control when you think about your child? Do you have questions about relationships or parenting? I have a background in both development and psychotherapy. I teach parents about development and help them learn what is "getting in the way" of parenting the way they want to. I also help couples "get on the same page" with parenting. Children come here to enhance development, learn social skills and have good self esteem. Children with developmental, behavioral and sensory concerns find a safe place to grow and explore. Parent Coaching is also available.

I firmly believe that life is easier lived when lived in relationship. In relationship, we can receive support, understanding, growth, and acceptance, making difficult life experiences much more bearable. We find and make relationships in so many domains; at home, with friends, in communities, and even with a therapist. That is why I think finding a therapist you feel safe with is so important.

Working with women who struggle with depression and anxiety when they are also dealing with infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum treatment requires personalized approaches.
Are you pregnant or have you had a baby in the past two years? Do you wish that was you? Wherever you are on your journey to or in motherhood, you deserve support and peace of mind. Maybe you thought getting pregnant would be magical... and then struggled with infertility and loss. Or maybe you thought the same about pregnancy, until anxiety almost crushed you. And then when you think you're ahead of the game and expecting postpartum to be hard, you're left feeling unrecognizable. If you are, you're not alone. Let me help you overcome these emotions and begin to feel like yourself again!

I work with adolescents, adults, couples and parents struggling with overwhelming feelings, infertility, birth trauma, pregnancy/postpartum issues, trauma, anxiety, depression or general life obstacles. I believe that the way you view yourself, your relationships with others, and the world is a gateway to the therapeutic experience. My clients would describe my warmth, compassion, use of humor and realism as a recipe for connection and safety within our relationship. I am an active participant during sessions and willing to be vulnerable to move my client to a place of change.

Perhaps you feel like you don't fit in or are struggling to figure out who you are or what is important to you. Or something, either concrete or intangible, isn't working in your life or just feels "off." Perhaps you are sad, anxious, struggling with a loss, infertility, chronic illness, or having difficulty with a family situation or relationship. I provide a compassionate and safe space to explore these challenges, allowing you to focus on what gives your life purpose and meaning. We will work on two levels- gaining insight, while also learning tools and strategies to reduce your pain.

Infertility Therapists

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?

Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?

The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?

Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?

There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
