In individual therapy, I specialize in women's health and work with anxiety, grief, life transitions, the unique presentations of ADHD in women, relationship challenges, CPTSD, PTSD, depression, and reproductive themes. In couples therapy, I specialize in navigating major life transitions, communication challenges, healing from trauma and intimacy issues. In family therapy, I specialize in major life transitions, grief, relationship and communication challenges and healing from intergenerational trauma. Areas of individual focus include coping with depression/anxiety, sleep issues, family or relationship struggles, addiction and recovery, life and career transitions, sexuality, mid-life issues, and emerging adults struggling with academics or early adulthood issues. In my work with couples I work on issues ranging from communication/conflict, intimacy, life transitions, rebuilding connection, family dynamics, and relational betrayals/infidelity. I draw from the Gottman’s work, Esther Perel’s work, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy among others.

My approach to therapy comes from a collaborative, client-centered and unconditional positivity to assist you in believing in yourself, to find the courage and resilience to face your struggles, and help you reconstruct a life balance. I find that when I hold a space for clients and their struggles and defenses, they learn they can begin to trust in another human being, be heard and understood, and eventually learn to trust themselves, and even learn to like themselves.

I approach counseling in an eclectic manner employing a variety of treatment options that best meets the client "where they are" and assists them as they move to "where they want to be." Support, insight, and motivation techniques are used to encourage each person to connect with their own natural (internal) wisdom and strength. With over 25 years in private practice, I have the training, the skills, and the experience to address concerns related to relationships, parenting, work/career transitions, recovery from illnesses such as a cardiac event and breast cancer, and issues of depression and anxiety.
